Say Something, I’m Giving Up on You: Shining Your Light and Trusting the Journey

March 18, 20254 min read

A few weeks ago I had a difficult and beautiful experience. Beautiful, because the universe spoke loud and clear.

When my latest podcast appearance dropped, I felt stressed. I had shared my truth more openly than ever before, and the weight of that vulnerability hit me hard. The second-guessing crept in—Had I said too much? Could my words be misunderstood? Would my family feel hurt? I love and respect them deeply, and I worried I said too much and some were out of context etc....

So, I made a decision. I’m not going to listen. I’m not going to share it. I’m just going to let the universe handle it.

And it did.

Because what happened next was nothing short of divine alignment.

Earlier in the day, I had a planned call with a woman I’ve known for years. We set it up to explore how we could support each other professionally, but what unfolded was so much deeper. Our conversation became an hour-long deep dive into vulnerability, shared experiences, and the power of our journeys. That connection gave me the courage to do something I had talked myself out of all day: actually listen to the podcast. And when I did, I felt something unexpected—pride. It was powerful. Hearing my own voice, my own truth, out in the world without filters or edits, reminded me of who I am. Not just who I’ve become, but who I’ve always been. The strength, the resilience, the wisdom—it was all there. Instead of feeling regret or fear, I felt deep affirmation. I had spoken from my heart, and I stood by every word.

And then, the next sign arrived.

My uncle sent me a video of the PS 22 chorus in Staten Island. At first, it seemed like a simple share. But as soon as I saw it, I realized—that was my school. One of the many places I moved through as a child. And in that moment, I was transported back to something I hadn’t thought about in years: the joy and freedom I felt when I sang.

It wasn’t just about the singing itself. It was about who I became when I sang—completely open, unguarded, expressive, full of light. That little girl cared too much about how she was perceived, about whether she was too much or not enough. I felt everything, deeply. I cried on stage. I wrestled with doubt. But I showed up anyway. And I realized—that’s who I’ve been coming back to all along.

And then, the song they were singing? Say Something, I’m Giving Up on You.

A song about letting go. A song about moving forward. A song that, in that exact moment, felt like a message just for me.

And that’s the thing—when we shine our light, when we own our truth, when we step fully into who we are, the universe responds. It sends us confirmation. It shows us we are on the right path.

This experience reminded me of the power of the 3 C’s of Soulful Prosperity: Clarity, Confidence, and Certainty.

  • Clarity always comes first. It clears away the noise, the self-doubt, the overthinking. Clarity is knowing who you are and what you stand for—without apology, without hesitation. When you have clarity, fear loses its grip because you see the truth.

  • Confidence follows. When you are clear on your path, confidence becomes second nature. You stop questioning yourself. You stop watering down your message. You trust that your story, your experiences, and your voice are powerful and needed.

  • Certainty locks it all in. It’s the unwavering trust that you are exactly where you’re meant to be, that everything you’ve been through has prepared you for this moment, and that nothing can shake what you know to be true about yourself and your mission.

When we embrace the 3 C’s, the self-doubt, the second-guessing, the fear of judgment—they dissolve. They no longer have power over us. We stop holding back. We stop questioning whether we are too much or not enough. We simply are.

For entrepreneurs, for leaders, for anyone walking the path of growth and expansion—this is soulful prosperity. It’s not just about external success. It’s about recognizing that everything in our past, every experience, every challenge, every triumph, can be turned into more light. It’s about not denying any part of ourselves but embracing it all as fuel for our highest potential.

Today, the message was clear: Keep going. Keep shining. Keep trusting. Clarity. Confidence. Certainty. The signs are everywhere—are you paying attention?
