The Entrepreneur Time Trap: How To Break Free

April 29, 20264 min read

I want to tell you about a goal I set that had nothing to do with what I actually wanted.

I decided I needed 100 people in my program by December 2025. Not because December meant anything. Not because 100 was a number rooted in strategy or vision. It was fear. It was scarcity. It was the desperate energy of trying to prove something to myself before an imaginary clock ran out.

And here is what that deadline actually produced. Stress. Contraction. A version of me showing up to my business from panic instead of power. The content I was creating felt desperate. The conversations I was having felt forced. The decisions I was making were coming from a place of lack and urgency and the frantic energy of someone who believed they were running out of time.

The deadline I invented to motivate myself was the exact thing making it impossible to show up as the person who could actually reach that goal.

That is the time illusion. And most entrepreneurs are living inside it every single day without realizing it.

Then life handed me something that changed everything.

My mom's health declined and she needed me. Not part of me. All of me. For four months I stepped away from the hustle, the deadlines, the pressure I had been putting on myself, and I became a co- caregiver. I was present with her through one of the most sacred and tender seasons of my life. I held space for her to transition peacefully, surrounded by love, supported, and never alone.

And during those four months, something happened in my business that I could not have manufactured from a place of striving.

With all that space I created, I had a brilliant idea to bring my program to franchisors.

And just like that! My franchise business took root and grew. With little effort from me beyond my intention and the energy I had invested in building it right. The systems I had put in place kept running. The relationships I had built kept producing. The vision I had planted kept expanding. All while I was fully present somewhere else.

That was not luck. That was the proof.

Proof that when you release manufactured urgency and operate from alignment, when you trust the vision enough to stop strangling it with deadlines you invented from fear, the business grows anyway. Sometimes it grows more.

I was not ignoring my business during those four months. I was operating from a completely different frequency. Not from what I need to do today to hit a number. From what is mine to do today that is aligned with who I am and what I am building. And that frequency, that trust, that willingness to release control and follow the light, produced more than the hustle and grind ever did.

Here is the truth nobody wants to sit with. The clock you are watching was not handed to you. You built it. You assigned it meaning. And then you handed it all of your power and let it run you.

The meaning you attach to any situation creates your emotional state. And your emotional state drives everything. Every decision. Every conversation. Every piece of content you create. Every offer you make. Every room you walk into.

So when you are operating from the story that you do not have enough time, that you are behind, that you need to move faster before it is too late, every single thing you touch carries that energy. And people feel it. Opportunities feel it. The results you are getting are a direct reflection of the frequency you are operating from.

The time illusion is not a scheduling problem. It is a belief problem. And belief problems require a different kind of solution.

During those four months with my mom I was not ignoring my business. I was trusting it. I was operating from the belief that what I had built was real and that the vision I held was strong enough to keep growing even when I was not grinding.

And it was.

That is what happens when you stop letting fear run the clock. That is what becomes possible when you release the illusion and step into alignment.

You have more time than you think. What you do not have is the luxury of spending it in the wrong energy.
