The Real Reason Your Business Is Not Growing the Way You Want It To

May 05, 20266 min read

I built my real estate business on fear. Scarcity. Proving myself. Comparing myself to everyone around me. I had the playbook and I worked it but the energy underneath it was all wrong.

And it blew up. The business. The marriage. The money. All of it.

When I built my coaching business I still had a playbook. But this time the energy underneath it was completely different. Intention. Vision. Certainty. Service. I followed the strategy from a grounded empowered place and everything moved differently.

Same action. Different frequency. Completely different results.

That is not woo woo. That is the most practical business lesson I have ever learned.

Most entrepreneurs think they have a strategy problem. They do not. They have an energy problem.

You know what to do. You know you need to prospect, follow up, show up, make offers, have conversations, hire people, lead, and keep growing. You know all of it. And you still avoid it. You still show up contracted, apologetic, or disconnected. You still wonder why things are not moving the way they should.

That is not a skills issue. That is a frequency issue.

Here is what I teach inside Beyond Limits that changes everything. Your nervous system becomes their nervous system. If you are uncertain, they feel uncertain. If you are desperate, they feel pressured. If you are grounded in the truth of what is possible, they feel that possibility too. People do not buy your offer. They buy your energy around your offer. And your team does not follow your plan. They follow your energy.

So when negative emotion shows up in the context of building your business, whether it is around prospecting, selling, hiring, leading, or growing, that emotion is not a stop sign. It is a signal. It is your internal guidance system telling you that something needs to shift energetically before the action will work.

And the most powerful thing you can do in that moment is not push through it. It is to pivot.

Here is the framework I use inside Beyond Limits and in my own business every single day. Pause. Get present. Get curious. Restructure. Transmute.

PROSPECTING

Most people dread prospecting because they have attached a meaning to it that has nothing to do with service. They have made it about rejection, about bothering people, about proving their worth. That meaning creates anxiety. That anxiety shows up in their energy. And that energy closes doors before a word is spoken.

Pause and ask yourself honestly: what is this emotion showing me? Get curious about the belief underneath it. Usually it sounds like I am interrupting someone, or they will say no, or who am I to reach out. Restructure with the truth: reaching out from a place of genuine service is not an imposition. It is leadership. Transmute that energy and show up to every outreach with the desire to connect and see if you can help, not with the desperation of needing a yes.

SALES CONVERSATIONS

Fear in sales conversations almost always traces back to one of two beliefs. I need this person to say yes, or I am not sure I can actually deliver what I am promising. Both create attachment to the outcome. And attachment collapses the energy of service.

Inside Beyond Limits I teach that your job in a sales conversation is not to convince anyone of anything. It is to clearly lead someone to a decision that supports their growth. When you are anchored in that truth the conversation changes completely. You stop selling. You start serving. And service closes.

HIRING AND LEADING

Negative emotion around hiring usually looks like anxiety about financial risk, doubt about your ability to lead, or fear of being seen as someone who does not have it all together. Around leading it often shows up as over explaining, over apologizing, or avoiding the conversations that need to happen.

Pause and get curious. What belief is running underneath this? Usually it is something like I am not ready to lead yet or I do not deserve to have people working for me. Restructure with this: your future self is already leading. They did not wait until they felt ready. They stepped into the identity and the confidence followed. Transmute the anxiety into vision. What does it feel like to lead a team that is fully aligned with your mission? Go there first. Then make the move.

GROWING AND SCALING

This one is the most subtle and the most costly. You can want to grow and still carry a buried belief that growth will cost you something. Your freedom, your values, your identity, the thing that made you start in the first place. So you unconsciously sabotage. You get close and pull back. You create chaos right when momentum is building.

The pause catches the pattern before it lands. The curiosity asks what you are actually afraid of. The restructure is this: your values are not a casualty of growth. They are the engine of it. You did not build this to lose yourself. You built it to become more of yourself. Transmute the resistance into recommitment to the version of growth that is fully aligned with who you are.

Here is an energy audit I run with my clients inside Beyond Limits. For each area of your business ask yourself honestly: on a scale of one to ten what energy am I currently bringing to this? One is dread, avoidance, and fear. Ten is flow, service, and genuine excitement.

Prospecting and outreach. Sales conversations. Follow up. Showing up visibly. Hiring and building your team. Leading the people around you. Receiving money and celebrating growth.

Wherever you scored below a seven, that is where the pivot needs to happen. That is where negative emotion is running the show and costing you results you cannot afford to leave on the table.

Your business grows at the speed of your energetic alignment. Not at the speed of your activity alone. Not at the speed of your strategy alone. At the speed of both working together from the right place inside you.

Every time negative emotion shows up in your business you have a choice. React from it and let it run you. Or pause, get present, get curious, restructure the belief underneath it, and transmute that energy into something that actually moves you forward.

That is the pivot. That is the work. And that is what separates entrepreneurs who grind from entrepreneurs who grow.
